Revolutionizing gene delivery for neuroscience and personalized therapy

Our mission is to advance the delivery of genetic materials throughout the body, deepening our understanding of intricate biological systems and developing innovative strategies for repair. To achieve this goal, we decipher the genetic blueprints governing the architecture, functions, and diseases of the nervous systems and engineer viral vectors to harness this knowledge. Our research employs multidisciplinary, high-throughput approaches, including molecular and synthetic biology, high-content imaging, single-cell/spatial omics, and computational methods. Through these endeavors, our commitment is to enhance human health and combat diseases.

The Jang lab will officially open in January 2024 in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. We are recruiting students, postdocs, and technicians, who are enthusiastic, collaborative, adventurous, and persistent in doing science and research. If you are interested in joining us, please email your CV and short cover letter with your research interest to mjjang at illinois.edu!
